Fred Bartenstein, founder and host of "Banks of the Ohio" from 2002 to 2008, has taped 170 timeless shows for your listening pleasure. Having completed six years of shows on behalf of this museum, Fred has retired from producing radio shows and is now working with the museum to create an online treasure trove of biographical histories of the Pioneers of Bluegrass Music. George McKnight, the new host of "Banks of the Ohio," is a veteran in syndicated bluegrass broadcasting, a festival and event emcee, and stage manager, presently based in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. McKnight's current program, "Uptown Bluegrass" begun in 1982, is broadcast by a string of mostly Canadian radio stations, and has been streamed on the World Wide Web since 2003. Phil Nusbaum is a radio professional thoroughly immersed in Bluegrass music and culture. His ability to present bluegrass in multiple perspectives comes from his diverse Bluegrass-related experiences. The Bluegrass Review includes Bluegrass classics as well as the current wave. Commentary links the songs together by reflecting on artists' styles, song lyrics, or Bluegrass history, as appropriate to the selections. Prescription Bluegrass is a special one-hour radio program for those afflicted with Bluegrass Fever. Treatment sessions are jam-packed with practicing specialists in all the various strains of Bluegrass Fever, including the traditional, old-fashioned, down-from-the-mountain strains, new-grass, border-grass, west-grass, home-grown and even the newer European strains.
